How do we perceive our environment? How do we construct our reality? And how much does our image of reality tell us about this construction process, its constituents – and, of course, ourselves?
Constructivism is not just an ideological perspective. It is a psychological mechanism. One who ensures that we can act and interact as thinking, acting and feeling beings.
The fact that we do this in a model world does not exclude the possibility that we as physical objects are naturally in a physical space-time structure. However, the objects and their interrelationships in this structure receive only in our minds a certain meaning. How this meaning arises, how it expresses itself, how it takes shape: that’s my subject matter.
My imagery often turns around these questions. It sometimes explores them in a playful, sometimes enigmatic way. And invites the viewers to think about how they construct their worldview in their own head.
